Summer Travel in Europe Boosts Cross-Border Tourism
Euro International Press, Paris — As the summer season begins, Europe’s tourism market continues to gain momentum. Cross-border travel, city breaks and cultural tourism are supporting airlines, hotels, restaurants and retail businesses.
The recovery of European tourism is driven not only by international visitors but also by local holidaymakers. Many families are choosing to travel within Europe, reducing long-distance costs while increasing visitor flows between regional cities.
France, Italy, Spain, Greece and Portugal remain among the most popular destinations. At the same time, smaller cities are attracting visitors through festivals, museum programmes, concerts and local food experiences, helping tourism spending spread beyond traditional hotspots.
However, the growth of tourism also brings challenges. Some cities are facing higher accommodation prices, traffic pressure and concerns from local residents. Balancing tourism income with urban sustainability has become an important issue for local governments.
Industry observers believe that European tourism will increasingly focus on quality, experience and sustainability. For businesses, personalised services, digital booking tools, green mobility and cultural content will become key ways to attract visitors.
