European Cities Accelerate Green Transport Development
Euro International Press — Many European cities are accelerating the development of green transport. Public transport upgrades, cycling lanes, pedestrian areas and low-emission zones are becoming important parts of urban governance and environmental policy.
The goal of green mobility is not only to reduce carbon emissions, but also to improve air quality, reduce noise pollution and enhance quality of life. In densely populated European cities, changes in transport habits directly affect urban efficiency and public health.
In recent years, more cities have encouraged residents to reduce private car use and switch to metro, tram, bus, cycling or walking. Some cities are also using digital mobility platforms to connect different transport options, making route planning and payment easier.
However, the transition also faces practical challenges. Public transport requires large investment, some residents oppose restrictions on cars, and travel needs between suburbs and city centres must be taken seriously.
Experts say the key to green transport is not only limiting car use, but also offering convenient, safe and affordable alternatives. In the future, European cities are expected to share more experience in sustainable mobility.
