Deep Dive into Self-Cleaning Base Stations: Auto-Empty, Hot Water Wash, Drying & Sterilization Explored
Self-cleaning base stations now constitute half of a robot vacuum’s engineering complexity, but are these advanced features gimmicks or necessities? We ran long-term biological and physical teardowns to find out. During auto-empty cycles, a powerful 20KPa negative pressure extracts hair and fine dust into a disposable bag within 10 seconds. In our hot water mopping washing tests, temperatures exceeding 60C demonstrated excellent emulsification of animal fats. Following washing, the fully enclosed heated air drying dropped mop moisture levels below 0.5% within 3 hours. Biological swab cultures revealed that silver-ion (Ag+) and ozone modules reduced bacterial survival rates by 99.9%, validating their mandatory role in long-term mold and odor prevention.
