Mid-Drive vs Hub Motor Systems: Which Is Better?

When selecting an electric bicycle, motor placement directly dictates power characteristics and overall ride quality. The two prevailing technical designs on the market are Mid-Drive systems and Rear Hub motor systems. Mid-drive motors apply power directly to the bottom bracket, leveraging the bike’s mechanical gear drivetrain to provide dominant torque optimization on steep inclines.
