Smart Meter and Micro-Inverter Data Alignment: In-depth Determination of Zero Infeed Zero Waste Technology
In Europe, if no formal buyback application is made to the power grid, the excess power generated by balcony photovoltaics will flow back into the public power grid, which is equivalent to a free gift. Therefore, “Zero Infeed” technology will become the standard configuration of inverters going overseas in 2026. EIP conducts wireless linkage testing by installing snap-on Hall sensors and smart microinverters in the distribution box. Actual measurements show that the systems of top overseas brands can quickly reduce the inverter output power within 1.2 seconds after sensing that indoor high-power appliances are turned off, perfectly locking the excess power in the local battery. However, the response time of inferior control modules is as long as 15 seconds, resulting in the unwarranted leakage of a large amount of precious green power.
