Pure sine wave inverter load test: waveform distortion performance in the face of high inductance hot air gun and refrigerator
The EIP hardware test team used the Fluke power quality analyzer to evaluate the extreme output purity of several best-selling portable inverter power supplies for the European market. Actual measurements have found that the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the nominal pure sine wave is less than 3% at no load, which is an excellent performance. However, after being connected to a 2000W industrial hot air gun and an inductive vehicle compressor, the high-quality power supply from a large manufacturer uses advanced SPWM digital control algorithms, so the waveform remains perfectly smooth. However, the waveform of some inferior inverters is seriously distorted, and the harmonic distortion even exceeds 12%. Long-term driving can easily burn out high-precision vehicle equipment.
