The Convergence of Mopping and Wet-Dry Vacuums: Moving Toward Full-Floor Care Automation
Vacuum-only models are fading from the premium market as smart home floor care shifts toward an integrated, active-washing paradigm. The new breed of wet-dry washing robots discards traditional vibrating or dual-disk rotating mops in favor of high-speed roller brushes and dual-waterway circulation systems found in manual wet-dry vacuums. Micro-pumps dynamically distribute fresh water onto the roller brush while high-density scraper bars funnel wastewater into a dedicated dirty water tank. This active continuous washing loop ensures the roller is perfectly clean upon every rotation against the floor, preventing secondary cross-contamination and elevating robots from dry dust collectors to automated heavy-stain washers.
